Orchid "Vanda". (2024)
One of the most amazing and beautiful legends about the orchid was created by the Maori people.
A long time ago, before people appeared, the mountains were covered with snow. The sun, touching the peaks, turned the snow into icy waters in rivers and waterfalls. When the rain caused by evaporation met the sun's rays, a rainbow appeared in the sky, which attracted spirits from all over the world. Everyone wanted to take a place on the rainbow. Under their weight, the rainbow burst, and the fragments fell to the ground. In places where the rainbow fragments touched the ground, beautiful flowers grew, and those that clung to the trees became orchids.
