Wild plum, blackthorn bush has been known for a long time. This plant is mentioned in fairy tales and legends of Britain and Europe. Blue fruits with a waxy coating served as food and the basis for drinks. Thorny thickets of blackthorn serve as a refuge for small animals, in the grass growing near such thickets you can notice rabbit trails. Blackthorn fruits are tart to the taste, but after the onset of cold weather they become sweet. In the autumn season, my great-grandmother prepared a wonderful liqueur from wild blackthorn fruits. But woe to those who collected these fruits. Blackthorn thorns know no mercy. In the modern world, we know new types of blackthorn plums that originated from wild thorny bushes. To this day, jams, sauces and drinks are made from blackthorn fruits.
